Components of Custom Framing
Molding/Frame:
Thousands of profile shapes, styles and colors are available. Let
us help you select the molding that will complement your art.
Glazing: The protective surface made from glass or acrylic
that shields the front of the art while in the frame. Available
in clear and non-glare (controls reflection), and in a variety of
levels of ultraviolet protection to prevent fading.
Matting: A multitude of color, textures and designs are
available. Paper mats, fabrics such as linen, suede and silk are
among the many textures that will enhance you artwork. Archival
conservation quality materials will protect your investment.
Fillet: A thin accent strip placed on the inside edge of
the mat. It will complement the molding as well as the artwork bringing
a cohesive touch to the framing package.
Mounting/Backing: From permanent mounting of posters and
photographs, to conservation backing of investment quality art,
supporting the art within the frame is an important structural element.
